About this policy

Holistic Health is the trading name of Cherry Johnson, a registered Naturopath, Nutritionist, Medical Herbalist and Remedial Massage Therapist practising from a home clinic in Trentham, Upper Hutt, Wellington, New Zealand.

Personal information is collected directly from you — in person at the clinic, online via the booking system, or through email and phone communication. I do not collect personal information about you from third parties without your knowledge or consent, except where required by law (for example, from a referring health professional where you have given consent).

When you use the Holistic Health website, basic analytics information may be collected automatically by the website platform (Wix). This includes anonymous data such as pages visited and browser type. This data is used to understand how visitors use the site and does not identify individual users.

How your information is used

Information is collected and used for the following purposes:

• To provide naturopathic, herbal medicine, nutritional and massage services

• To assess your health and develop personalised treatment plans

• To communicate with you about your appointments and ongoing care

• To maintain accurate clinical records as required by professional and legal obligations

• To send appointment reminders through the booking system

 

I do not use your personal information for marketing, advertising or any purpose beyond delivering your care, unless you have specifically requested to receive newsletters or updates, which you can opt out of at any time.

I do not share your personal information with third parties without your consent, except in the following circumstances:

• Where required by law, for example, in response to a court order or where disclosure is necessary to prevent serious harm

• To other health professionals involved in your care, where you have given explicit consent (for example, sharing a treatment note with your GP)

• To the booking system provider (Timely) for the purpose of managing appointments, Timely's own privacy policy applies to data held within their platform

 

Your personal information is never sold, rented or traded to any third party. It is never shared with advertisers, marketers or data brokers.

How information is stored and protected

Clinical records and client information are stored securely using electronic systems with appropriate access controls and encryption. Physical records, where used, are stored in locked storage accessible only to me.

I take reasonable steps to ensure that personal information is protected from unauthorised access, modification, disclosure or misuse. The Holistic Health website is hosted on Wix, which provides industry-standard security measures for website data.

While I make every effort to protect your information, no data transmission or storage system is completely secure. If you have concerns about the security of your information, please contact me directly.

How long information is kept

Clinical records for health services are retained for a minimum of ten years from the date of your last appointment, in accordance with New Zealand health records requirements. After this period, records are securely destroyed.

Booking and payment records are retained for as long as required for administrative and tax purposes, then securely deleted.

​

If you request that your records be deleted, I will do so to the extent permitted by law and professional obligations.

Your rights

Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to:

• Request access to personal information I hold about you

• Request correction of information that is inaccurate or incomplete

• Ask whether I hold information about you and how it is used

• Withdraw consent to the use of your information for purposes other than providing your care

• Make a complaint if you believe your privacy rights have been breached
